What I’m Doing Before I Turn 30

Next week is my 30th Birthday and with it comes the completion of several major projects that I’ve been working on. I planned to finish these projects in February, however as usual everything takes much longer than you would initially expect. I’m always laser-focused on quality so never have any issues pushing a project out by a month, or two, or three if it means delivering with exceptional quality.

So far this year along with all the great development and brand-building projects I’ve been working on there are two main projects that I told myself I HAD to finish before my 30th Birthday.

The first is the Beta launch of Xelot – our first full-scale software project. Both Daina and I have been using just about every minute of free time we have together, staying-up late, and working 12-hour weekend days…and I can tell you it has been worth every minute! Xelot has become something that we both use every single day now, it’s addicting, it’s fun, it’s what we dreamed of making and I can;t wait to release it to the beta team next week.

We had hoped to release it to the beta team this week since everything was ready however in our initial simulated beta testing we found that having a ton of computers hitting the database did not make the server happy. So, in order to prepare for the load I have upgraded to a Virtual Private Server specifically for this project and it’s now running lightning fast.

The second project that’s been eating-up a lot of my time is the third edition of my book. This started-out as an upgrade to the current edition but somewhere in the process became an entirely new book of its own. As such I’ll be launching this as a completely new book and it’s coming-out next week!

I planned to have the book finished in December but over the last four months I’ve put a lot of time and energy into making this the best piece of writing I’ve ever released – period. Along with a great book I’ll have a set of videos that accompany the book that will allow the reader to see some of the concepts I discuss in action so they can follow-along at home.

As if that wasn’t enough I am also launching a “Domain Monetization” club that everyone who buys my book will be a part of. This club will be all about monetizing domains and looking at real-life case studies to understand the whole process from start to finish. Along with articles and videos the monetization club will feature live chat sessions and even webinars.

So get ready everyone, next week is the big week, there’s been a lot of planning, blood, sweat, and tears making this all happen (okay maybe no blood – but it does sounds more dramatic that way!). I have big dreams, we all should, and this is only the beginning. Thanks for all the kind words and support you all have given me, it’s not easy to accomplish what I’m trying to do but sharing it with all of you and getting your feedback has made a big difference. As a huge Star Wars geek at times like this I look to my favorite Yoda quote – “Do or do not, there is no try.”
