Weekend Musings – The Oscars, Vine, And Finding Shirts That Fit

Hello, happy Sunday, and welcome to my weekend musings. I am going to keep this incredibly short since the Oscars start in 15 minutes and that means I’ll be unplugging and enjoying with Daina. Last week was intense as we had some epic days, and nights, building Fashion Metric. We had a great call with an exciting new designer in London and continued work on refining the algorithm thanks to the great feedback we’ve had from our initial users and partners.

I also started using Vine this week and am still getting the hang of it. Like most tools, it’s all about how you use it and I think in the future tools like this will help us do a better job of capturing a moment. If you don’t know what Vine is, you should, it’s a very cool new video service that allows you to make creative seven second videos that you can share with other people. At first it made no sense to me, and then after browsing some Vine’s I got it. It’s one thing to see a beautiful photo of hot air balloons, but much more real to see a seven second video showing them in action.

One of my first Vine’s was made at Whole Foods while we were shopping for produce. If you join feel free to follow me and you can check it out. A picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth a thousand pictures, or at least that’s how I see it!

Now we’re watching the Oscars paying particular attention to Men’s Fashion and making our picks for the best, and worst dressed Oscar contenders. Wait, 5:24, the Oscars start in 6 minutes and we’re out of beer, grab a beer yourself, shut off your phone, and enjoy, the Oscars only happens once a year!
