Merry Christmas To All And To All A Good Domain

Morgan_Daina_Skiing

Merry Christmas and hello from snowy Big Bear! We have spent the last few days tucked-away in a cabin in the mountains and it has been just what we needed. During the day on Sunday and Monday we went skiing at Snow Summit. I used to be great at skiing but after trying my luck at Whistler I realized I needed a bit of work to get back to where I used to be.

Daina on the other hand is one of the best skiers I’ve ever seen in my life. She’s incredibly humble about it and likely won’t admit it if you ask her. Growing up in Canada she took skiing lessons every weekend, all winter long for somewhere around 10 years. This trip I finally got back to the point I was at years ago where I can confidently do a black diamond without flailing down the hill. Still, no matter how hard I try I can’t keep up with Daina, but I’ll keep trying!

The shot above is from the top of the mountain looking down onto Big Bear Lake. We got absolutely great weather, all the snow without it actually snowing. A week before we arrived Big Bear had several big snowfalls setting the stage for a great Christmas trip. That being said it is expected to snow tomorrow and Thursday so we’ll definitely have some snowy adventures.

I hope that all of you are taking this week to relax and spend some quality time with family and friends. Of course, like the domain geek that I am I thought I’d throw in a small piece about domain investing at the end here. The title of this post is “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good domain” and while it may sound like a simple play on words, there is some truth to it. I’ve always found there are some great domain deals to be had around Christmas. Less people are watching auctions and some people that are trying to even up everything for the tax year will sometimes sell at lower-than-normal prices.

Now I’m not saying you should abandon your family and spent all your time staring at domain auctions or making low-ball offers on domains. However if you keep your eyes open and even setup some auto-bids on a platform like Protrada then you can still sit back and relax and potentially get some domains that will help you start 2013 off with a bang.

Okay, now it’s time for me to go, we’re cooking Christmas dinner and getting ready to watched Scrooged with Bill Murray, one of our favorites! Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!
