MeetMe Bring Mobile Video Dating To The Masses With Charm, Is Charm.me On Their Radar?

MeetMe Site

In case you missed it, Meet.me was sold for $450,000 back in 2011 and since then the company has been busy and is now announcing their newest product called Charm. You can think of Charm as a dating app that uses short Vine-like videos to get to know people beyond their photo and profile.

“According to co-founder Geoff Cook, the company has been impressed with the growth of dating app Tinder, which lets users flip through one photo after the next and rate potential suitors with a simple yes or no. However, one issue that Cook takes with Tinder is that photos can be outdated or misleading.
With Charm, the same Tinder-style format exists with simple swipes for yes or no. Yet, instead of showing you photos which may not paint a real picture, Charm shows you short, looping videos.” (Source – TechCrunch)

Meet.Me still forwards directly to MeetMe.com and while Charm.com looks like it’s going to be tough to get (main site for Charm Sciences, Inc.), Charm.me is undeveloped so could be getting a nice email any day now. Here’s the question, if they paid $450,000 for Meet.Me? What do you think Charm.me is worth to them and is it a name you think they should go after?
