If there’s one thing that I pay very careful attention to on my blog it is which posts resonate the most with readers. This is easy to see in Google Analytics and I’m excited to say that you guys are all passionate about what I’m passionate about – monetizing domains. Now I’m not saying that everyone who reads my blog just wants to monetize, this is far from the truth, what I am saying is that my posts about monetization, specifically case-studies, get the most traffic.
This makes sense also since I’ve said time and time again that my expertise is not buying and selling domains but instead buying and monetizing. So I’m always looking for ways to step up my game and make my blog more valuable to readers. After looking at this data I had a realization – I should re-focus my newsletter so that it is dedicated completely to domain monetization.
For those who have subscribed to my newsletter in the past you know I’ve been all over the place. On top of that I’ve tried selling domains through the newsletter with very little success and actually stopped writing my newsletter towards the end of last year. My realization last year is that there are a ton of domain sales newsletters and by selling domains through my own newsletter I wasn’t doing something unique…nor something I’m very good at!
So there’s a new newsletter in town everyone and it’s launching next week. The focus of the newsletter will be domain monetization and each week I will be including a case study section detailing my progress with a specific project that I am working on. I hope that by taking you inside the day-to-day things that I do to monetize my domains I’ll inspire more people to monetize the right way.
You won’t hear me talk about putting-out tons of junky mini-sites, I’m doing real development and monetization here so you’ll learn about all the things I’m doing to build significant online brands. While I used to post case studies on my blog all the time, as my readership has grown unfortunately some people have taken advantage of this transparency. In some cases people have either launched attacks on my sites or clicked the ads 8-trillion times to get me in trouble with my advertisers. So I’ve decided the blog is no longer the place to be sharing in-depth case studies about what I’m working on, but the newsletter is!
With my new newsletter also comes a brand-new feature that I don’t think I’ve seen on any newsletter before. Video. That’s right, I’ll be recording a unique video for every single newsletter and posting these videos on You Tube. It’s 2011 and I think it’s time to let my readers decide how they want their content. The videos will be available to everyone whether you subscribe to my newsletter or not but will not have nearly the level of detail that subscribers will get in the weekly newsletters.
So if you haven’t subscribed to my newsletter yet, now is the time! The first issue will be coming-out next week and it’s all completely free so you have nothing to lose. There’s a new newsletter on the block folks and it’s not going to be a list of domains or a recap of my blog posts from the week – it’s going to be the good stuff, what I’m doing on a daily basis to make money with my domains. How does that sound to you? Please feel free to share any elements you’d like to see in the new newsletter – I want to deliver what YOU my reader is looking for!
