Happy Thanksgiving – Why I Am So Thankful This Year

My Thanksgiving posts historically have been, incredibly long. This year I’ve decided to write a much shorter post since I really do want to put the focus on spending time with my family. Daina and I are in Berkeley right now (where I was born and raised) getting ready for a nice Thanksgiving day and dinner with my family.

Of course, being the geeks that we are, and loving our startup life we did get up early and have been working all morning. Now it’s the afternoon and we’re switching gears and preparing for a day of R&R.

I did want to take a moment on my blog to say why I am so thankful this year and to mention a few of the people who have impacted my life in 2012.

First things first, this year I married Daina, the love of my life. We had an amazing wedding that was everything we had dreamed of and more. Now we are living our dream and running a startup together, spending every day together and getting the chance to really get creative and do things our way.

Two dreams came true, and in a very close time period which has been a bit surreal. Now we wake up every morning more excited than ever to start the day, and commute together in our pajamas 🙂

I am also thankful of all the wonderful friends we have, from my good buddies from High School that are still some of my closest friends on the planet, to new friends in the domain industry and startup space. I feel incredibly blessed to have met so many amazing people over the last few years, we have a great group of fellow founders that are going through the same things we are going through and it’s great to share these experiences together.

Most of all I am thankful for my family. I have two of the most positive and supportive parents on the planet, a sister who is doing well and making her way in the world and an extended family that loves each other and cherishes all the moments we get to spend with each other.

I am also thankful for where we live. We had always dreamed of living on the water and being able to wake up every morning and see the water and the boats has been simply incredibly.

It has been a great journey for us and we are just starting two new journeys as we begin our marriage and our first startup together. I couldn’t be happier about where we are in our lives and look forward to the exciting year ahead.

Last, but certainly not least I am so thankful to all of you, my readers, many of whom have been reading my blog for years, some who have been reading for 5+ years. This blog is a part of my everyday life and will continue to be well into my hundreds. Thank you for reading, commenting, and well, just being you!

I hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving, make sure to pull yourself away from your computer and spend time with the people you love, because that’s really what Thanksgiving is all about.
